If you’re eating or drinking something made from cow’s milk, it’s because a calf chained in a box somewhere isn’t. — Dan Piraro (via 190590)

peacehip:

I’m pescatarian and I LOVE seafood. I wish I could be vegan but it’s too expensive.

I am sorry for being straightforward here but as you can read in some of my older blog posts: this is the lamest excuse for not being vegan ever. Seriously: the fish is the most expensive part of this meal and fake meat/dairy/fish products are absolutely not necessary.
Come out of denial and go vegan or be honest and stay a meat-eater. Fish are animals, too, they want to live like everyone else therefore it makes absolutely no difference whether you eat fish or cow or whatever. All those fancy “I am ashamed for eating meat therefore I give my bad behaviour a cuter outfit”- names meat-eaters give themselves really piss me off.
If you’re serious about going vegan, you might want to read this: Vegan on a food stamp budget and this: How do I live cheaply on a vegan diet.
Here’s the link to a vegan soup kitchen (!). You’ll find useful tips there, too. If those people manage to run a soup kitchen vegan I am sure you’ll manage to feed yourself properly on a vegan diet even if you are on a tight budget (like me, by the way).
Sorry, but sometimes the tough love is necessary. Have a wonderful (meat and dairy free) day!
